With the warm spring sunshine heralding a bright and positive start to the year, we have been putting the finishing touches to our exciting new web site, and are now delighted to introduce you to what we hope will be an easy to navigate and informative resource.

2006 was a year of outward focus, respite and development. After the thrill of Ivar Mackay’s wonderfully successful solo show at the Scottish Gallery in Edinburgh in April, (he will be showing there again in May 2008), we took time off over the summer to visit friends at home and abroad.

September saw Ivar’s work represented by the Scottish Gallery at Thomas Goode in Mayfair, London, in a special collaborative event. In October he participated in the Designed & Made annual showcase at Blackfriars in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. To round off the year Ivar’s porcelain was presented alongside the work of contemporary fine and applied artists at the Castlegate House Gallery in Cockermouth, in a special Christmas Exhibition.

With a major show in preparation for the following year, Ivar’s 2007 Exhibition Programme is deliberately restrained. Three pieces (large crackle turquoise celadon) have already been shown in "Vessels for Spring" at the Scottish Gallery in Edinburgh in March – see archive.

Nine pots (celadon variants and russet glazes) are going to the inaugural exhibition of Number52 The Gallery, Heart of the Country Village, Swinfen, Lichfield, Tel 07989 542691, opening on Saturday 28 April.

A group of six "Dusk" pieces (cobalt and iron markings on pale celadon glaze) will be presented at the CPA at 50 celebratory exhibition at The Gallery at Bevere, Bevere Lane, Worcester, Tel 01905 754484, from 02 June – 28 July.
